A Little Love was written after an evening in a house share where I lived with friends. We’d have evenings like this where no one had much else going on, we’d sit around the table after dinner, someone would start telling a story, that would lead to another and you’d be there 4 hours later 🙂 That night someone had a Rumi and a Maya Angelou poetry book with them we got these one I think

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.
We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love’s light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.
R: If I love myself
I love you.
If I love you
I love myself
