Quiet space and silent days

the quiet space is ‘open door’ to let you enter if you’re the first person without need for a host. I’m often there and if I am I’ll read out a quote at the end on silence/quiet. If I can’t make it I choose quotes ‘quiet’/’silent’ here and here (there’s loads)

Donations for visiting the space go toward the running costs. Thank you to all who have contributed – as a guide I say £1/$/E more of less to your means, per visit.

Thanks for stopping in,

these are complicated times , maybe this helps, I know it helps me.

I’m planning on doing half an hour quiet time every morning and evening and opening it up to anyone who feels they’d like to join (7-7.30am/10.30-11pm UK Time) -please join anytime to share some silence followed by a short reading by different writers on quiet and silence (see foot of the page for today’s)…: come meditate/relax/chill/downtime/journal/read/drink tea -nothing expected except quiet of course!

I’m also interested in holding Silent Days, I aspire to do 1 a month and would love to do them alongside people sometimes, with a schedule and space for sharing more here, let me know if you’re interested. We could do it on different days and share at the end of the month how it was.

In the words of Thich Nhat Hanh:
“Each moment is a chance for us to make peace with the world, to make peace possible for the world, to make happiness possible for the world.”

October continues mornings 7-7.30/ evenings 10.30-11 (uk time)

thanks to those that joined so far.

Tea hour October, last Sunday of the month 8-9. Let me know if you’re interested.

Tea hour is an hour of hanging out in the space with tea toward the end of the month and more on my silent days here

maybe see you

The song ‘light dark light again’ is about depression and finding the quiet in the storm, not always that easy, though possible

  1. Many thanks 4 a very peaceful time. it was difficult to do, but a lovely way to end a busy day & grateful that I am here now after a difficult year. Our choirs are learning a beautiful Ukrainian lullaby which gives us hope that peace will come soon & the war will stop. Bless you, Joe. with fond affection.

    1. hello you are so welcome anytime – silence can be hard I know for me I find a confident silent friend inside after a while, with familiarity and practice 🙂
